July 22 French Canadian Fiddle Workshops for Beginners

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play the fiddle, now’s your chance!  No previous music experience necessary. Musician Pierre Pleau will teach you the basics of French Canadian fiddling. Free workshop. Student size fiddles will be provided.  Spaces for these workshops are limited, so pre-register for your time slot.  Please arrive 15 minutes early. If you are not present when the workshop begins, your space may be given to someone else.

12-12:30pm: Beginners Workshop

  • To register, list the family member that is most interested in playing the fiddle (everyone in your immediate family is welcome to attend the workshop).
  • Enrollment is limited to 4 families.
  • When enrollment is full, you can sign-up to be on the waiting list to be contacted if a spot opens up.

12:30-1pm: Advanced Beginners Workshop

Bring your own fiddle/violin – tuned up and ready to play.  Learn fiddle fingering & bowing techniques and an easy French Canadian Fiddle tune! Free workshop.

  • This workshop is for students already learning to play the fiddle/violin.
  • Enrollment is limited to 6 students
  • Enrollment is currently full for this session.  However you may sign-up to be on the waiting list to be contacted if a spot opens up.
